6/10/2023 0 Comments The love that split the world bookAs a young child she started having visits from a mysterious elderly figure she called Grandmother. Overall, I gave this book 3/5 stars, and I would recommend it to people who really enjoy contemporary writing. The Love That Split the World Shannon's Library The Love That Split the World LET’S GET EXCITED ABOUT THIS BOOK Natalie has always been a little different from her family and friends. Some of the passages that explained the travel were pretty confusing, and I had to reread them a few times. At first, they are momentary glimpses, but then her whole town disappears for hours. This book is based on time/world travel, which of course is a hard topic to explain and write about, so I’m not sure I fully understand what was really happening but I think I get the gist of it. Title: The love that split the world Author: Emily Henry Synopsis: Natalie Cleary starts seeing the world in a different way. It kind of focused less on the boy/friend/family issues, and more on the supernatural aspect of the plot. However, the second half of this book was definitely more interesting to me. I’m fairly picky when it comes to what contemporary books I like, and most contemporary novels I read end up having pretty much the same story line. The first half of this book mostly felt like contemporary to me, and that’s probably why I didn’t really like it. Normally I never would have bought this book for myself, but I received this in one of my recent OwlCrate boxes, and I included this in my May TBR pile, so I felt like I had to read it.

Bulawayo shows that it’s definitely not a bed of roses. We built mountains between us and them, we dug rivers, we planted thorns- we had paid so much to be in America and we did not want to lose it all.” “We hid our real names, gave false ones when asked. Added to that, the struggles and sacrifices they've had to make: What complicates Darling’s coming of age story is her moving to Detroit, Michigan to live with her aunt.As is typical among Africans (and also non-Africans, of course), an escape to the West may not be what it seems. It starts off following a group of children in Zimbabwe: Darling, Stina, Chipo, Bastard and Godknows, seemingly innocent children living in a not so innocent environment. 6/9/2023 0 Comments Star wars ashley ecksteinTo me and to so many fans, Star Wars means hope, Ahsoka means hope, and leave it to Star Wars: The Clone Wars to provide that hope in the middle of honestly some of the darkest times. Everyone needed some light in the darkness. Everyone needed something to look forward to. At first it was really disappointing, but then I realized the timing was perfect, because this was right in the beginning of COVID, and everyone needed hope. We had planned fan screenings and press events and premieres and none of it got to happen because of COVID. It's funny because we had planned so many things for the final season of Clone Wars. And it only gets better, honestly, in my mind, the more times I watch it, and the more I get to talk with fans about it and interact about it. I think the Siege of Mandalore – the finale of Clone Wars – is just incredible. The reader's doubtful anxiety mimics that of the protagonist, and each story thus creates that atmosphere of mystery which is the supernatural experience. The five stories presented here have been collected by Dr Hesselius, a `metaphysical' doctor, the forerunner of the modern psychiatrist, who is willing to consider the ghosts both as real and as hallucinatory obsessions. In exploring sometimes inexplicable terrors, the tales focus on the unease of the haunted men and women who encounter the supernatural, rather than on the origin or purpose of the visitant. His writings draw on the Gothic tradition, elements of Irish folklore, and even on the social and political anxieties of his Anglo-Irish contemporaries. Known in nineteenth-century Dublin as `The Invisible Prince' because of his reclusive and nocturnal habits, Le Fanu was fascinated by the occult. The Delphi Classics edition of Fanu includes original annotations and illustrations relating to the life and works of the author, as well as individual tables of contents, allowing you to navigate eBooks quickly and easily.
